Vision + Roadmap

What the game is:

Candles in the Darkness is a single-player survival/crafting game set in 2nd-century Galilee (130–150 AD). The focus is a **gentle survival loop** (gather → craft → build → farm → explore) with **stylized 3D** visuals and **performance-friendly** assets for modest PCs. In-game Scripture quotations use **KJV**, and the tone is wholesome and historically respectful—no occult or graphic content. Extensive faith based systems are planned for the future.

High-level pillars

- Grounded daily-life survival with a relaxed difficulty curve

- Historically informed crafting/building sets

- Clear, readable visuals (low–mid poly 3D, PBR materials)

- Family- and church-friendly content

Why I’m making it

I want to build games that put God first and are truthful, beautiful, and charitable—games that honor Christ and invite players into a thoughtful, peaceful experience. As a solo developer, I’m keeping the studio lean so I can ship consistently, listen well, and improve the game with your feedback.

Roadmap (next 30 / 60 / 90 days)

These are targets, not promises—but they’re what I’m marching toward.

Next 30 days

- Core loop pass: gathering & basic crafting recipes, first save/load

- 2–4 new screenshots and a simple title image on the page

- Weekly "devlog cadence" starts (this is the first one); feedback survey link added

Next 60 days

- WebGL demo - for instant try-before-download

- Early farming + small buildables set; performance + input polish (keyboard/mouse; controller test)

- Basic settings menu (audio, sensitivity, accessibility toggles)

- First community Q&A devlog; incorporate top feedback items

Next 90 days

- Expand the vertical slice (Nazareth outskirts) with new materials/props
